A reflection on the Leadership and Management of quality assurance procedures in a Further Education establishment in the UK

• Critically analyse contemporary theories on leadership and/or management in an applied educational context.

• From your chosen educational context critically reflect on the leadership and/or management of either: diversity, equality, cultural awareness, or quality procedures.
The first half of the essay is based on LO 1 and it is to critically analyse the chosen leadership style which is “collaborative leadership” in further education (college level). and the second half would be on LO2 and that is to critique the leadership and management of quality assurance procedures in a Further Education establishment that I work in. 
This is the quality assurance procedure used in my college:
1. We have standardised assessment methods which the assessors (such as myself) would use to mark students work and carry out observations of them
2. The Internal quality assurer would carry out an annual observation of me teaching as well as interveiw the learners.
3. He would carry out an interim/formative sample and fill out a report of one random unit per learner that he has sampled and he would do this whilst they are still studying. 
4. He would then carry out a summative sample where they will have completed their work and this decides if the work is of quality and ready to be submitted for a certification claim. 
5. The external quality assurers with the awarding body carry out annual observations and if the centre has 2 consecutive, good reports, they reach direct claims status. They fill out a full report and give us a RAG rating. (I will attach our latest report). 
They said the centre should not be named in the assignment but kept anonymous.
