Critically appraise two studies (one quantitative study and one qualitative study

CAT/RCA Exercise

Critically appraise two studies (one quantitative study and one qualitative study) using the Critical Appraisal Tool (CAT)
for the Quantitative study and the Rapid Critical Appraisal Checklist (RCA) for the qualitative study. The two studies
should be related to your PICOT topic and not be a systematic review, meta-analysis, or mixed methods study. Use
appropriate research and statistical terms and concepts.
• Carefully review the study’s purpose, methodology and results and complete the form for each of the two articles.
• At the end of the CAT and RCA form, write a synthesis paragraph addressing implications for practice based on the
evidence the study generated.  USE YOUR OWN WORDS, NOT THE WORDS OF THE AUTHOR(S).
• Create a title page in APA format. Include an abstract.  Include the article reference in APA format on the top of the
CAT and the RCA form.  Since you are identifying the article on the form, a reference page is not necessary for this
assignment.
• Submit the two studies (PDFs) along with your paper in the Brightspace submission folder.CAT/RCA Exercise
