Task
The aim of the assessment is to assist students in directing and planning their research projects. It is required that students prepare a research proposal for the lecturer’s consideration. This can be based on the proposal done in the Business Research Methods (M) course which will be further developed and refined.
The proposal should include the following sections:
Introduction: What is the purpose of your project? Also, provide the theoretical or practical basis or proposition for your research project. Students should also address why this research project is important.
Topic Background: Review the literature and provide a concise discussion on the topic giving some context in respect to the problem or issue.
Research Aim and Objectives: Provide the aims and objectives of the research. This section also includes research questions to be addressed.
Research Methodology: Briefly explain what type of methodology the student will employ to gather data.
Research Project Chapters: outline the proposed chapters for your final research report.
Milestones and Budget: When it will be done, and in what order, and how much it will cost to do it.
Summary: Possible outcomes and limitations of the research.
References: A list of academic resources used (i.e. books, journals).
Length and Presentation
2,000 words addressing the points as noted above.
The key criteria by which this assessment will be marked:
1. identifying and summarising the problem/question to be investigated
2. identifying existing, relevant knowledge and views connected with your selected topic
3. proposing an appropriate methodology for your research report

Introduction: – The structure of this section is very clear. However, you can improve the background and problem statement by adding more recent research papers related to your research project. What is the gap that previous studies have overlooked in terms of managing budget in fitness enterprises under Covid? Literature review: – This section is quite short with no sub-sections. You should add more references to develop it into a chapter in the final report. You can make your voice stronger by focusing on the information rather than the authors. Also, try to compare and contrast previous studies and put some of them in a sentence to reflect the trend in the literature. – Please gather more research papers on business transformation, business administration or change management during Covid to support your study on the fitness industry. Research Methodology: – Please see the content of Research Methodology in the template of Research Proposal. You should also put more references to support the selection of your research design, data collection, sampling strategy and data analysis. – Please be aware that you cannot use survey and focus group interview in this course. We can only employ secondary data analysis. – This section should be revised substantially. Table of content, schedule & conclusion: – The Trial Table of Content was well-written. – You should be more specific with the Conclusion, presenting the significance of your research and the limitations in terms of project scope, research design, data collection and data analysis techniques.
