e Hebrew Bible and how that character is represented in both the Hebrew Bible and the Christian New Testament

CHRTC 100 Winter Term 2023 Writing Assignment Rubric

Please Write on the Biblical Character Rahab and illustrate her involvement in the Hebrew bible and the new Christian testament
I have provided an example essay as well as the guide.

The expected length of the writing assignment will be 3-5 pages (double-spaced). There are two
basic options for writing assignment topics.
a) The writing assignment can focus on a biblical character from the Hebrew Bible and how that
character is represented in both the Hebrew Bible and the Christian New Testament. Possible
characters include Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, or Elijah. Please confirm your choice
with the professor.
b) The writing assignment can focus on a Catholic approach to the reading and interpreting of
the Bible. Class readings from the Catholic Study Bible may prove to be helpful. The text listed
below may also be helpful.
Marc Zvi Brettler, Peter Enns, and Daniel J. Harrington, The Bible and the Believer: How
to Read the Bible Critically and Religiously. Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2012.
Available for free on U of A Libraries, digital copy as an e-book.
A one page writing assignment proposal is due on February 17 at midnight. Please email this to
the professor.
The writing assignment should be written in either Chicago or MLA formatting style. It is due April
6 at midnight. Please email this to the professor.
Length: 3-5 pages (double spaced, and not including a separate title page, bibliography, or the
like)
Format: Either MLA or Chicago, as long as you are consistent with one style
Sources: Minimum of three sources. One of these sources should be the Bible. Two of these
sources must be academic; this means books, articles from academic journals, dictionary
entries, Bible commentaries, Bible dictionaries, Bible atlases, etc. (internet sources like
Wikipedia, etc. do not count, though you are obviously not disallowed from using such sources). CHRTC 100 Winter Term 2023 Writing Assignment Rubric
