Deep Dive / What are some ways we can mitigate stigma experienced by marginalized groups? In Psychology of Diversity

For this second deep dive assignment, we are reviewing the “isms” and selecting one marginalized group to devise ways we can ally with them to penetrate the social and systemic obstacles that they continue to face even today in 2023. For this assignment, it is suggested that you refer to the following chapters (6, 7, 8, and 9) to choose the marginalized group you are interested in helping as well as giving a brief summary about the previous research about that group (be sure to indicate if your chosen group is a “visible” or “invisible” minority). Then, you will review chapter 10 and in your own words, talk about the particular experiences of your chosen group to assess how stigma is particularly perpetuated. Finally, include two scholarly references (not in the next book) which describe some possible interventions to increase equity and inclusion for the marginalized group you are choosing to focus on.
