Analytical Report
As part of the research component for this course, the purpose of this assignment is to prepare you for research papers you may be required to write in future academic courses, but also to practice research and source documentation, both skills that may be necessary in your future place of employment.
To complete this assignment, begin by selecting a controversial issue in your field of study (academic discipline), or from the business sector in which you hope to work.
Your research paper must be both informative and argumentative. You must take a stand on the issue and present a coherent argument that attempts to persuade your readers to agree with your position. You must also include five credible sources and a full Works Cited page. Use MLA 8th edition formatting (see the OWL at Purdue University or your Handbook for guidance).
This assignment must:
Be 5-7 pages long
Include 5 credible sources – review how to conduct credible research (in your textbook)
Include a works cited page
Be in MLA 8th edition formatting
Meet the requirements of an Analytical Report (see Chapter 15, specifically, p. 434 details the contents of a report.)
Be focused on logic-based claims (what you can actually prove), as this is analytical report, not just a persuasive report.
Be directed toward professionals within the industry you have chosen
Directly explain the issue you have selected (with academic research) and provide a solution to the issue (based on academic research) that addresses the main issue.
