This research dissertation aim is to critically analyse the impact of the introduction of 5G infrastructure on protecting the businesses proprietary information.
By conducting research into how 5G will impact publicly traded companies in relation to safeguarding their proprietary information, this dissertation has the following objectives:
• Secondary data will be collected from information security risk management philosophies, theories, and frameworks.
• Analyse and evaluate secondary data to identify the vulnerabilities of 5G and the key differences of current CIA triad protocol and how it may potentially alter with the introduction of 5G.
• Primary data will be extracted from two risk advisors that have operated in a publicly traded company.
• The (primary) data from the two risk practitioners will be critically analysed to establish whether 5G in contrast to current privacy protection protocol will impact the organisation in maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of their sensitive data.
• Summarise the key findings of the study, discussing any limitations and present recommendations for future research.
