Reflexive commentary on leading a community centre in Edinburgh to support Ukrainian families displaced by the war in Ukraine

2. Intro (set the scene, and main point being ‘why you?’)
Something about facilitating change with young people and play
Refer to policy, eg. related to funding, local and national.
Rationale, eg. wellbeing indicators, risk and resilience matrix
Evidence why this would be a positive thing (like teachers reporting stress from disruption – this recognises the ‘teacher as person’ and would have a ripple effect on classroom culture)
Paragraph on government policy – ie. support for Ukranians, importance of community centres.
Then, you as a leader of this. What sort of leader would you be? Previous experience can be included, but I think this is where they also want you to talk about being person-centred.
3. Narrative – about you, bring in theories and evidence
4. Conclusion – how to evaluate this?
1. Appy a theory, concept or principle of person-centred leadership
2. Outline the contribution of your leadership to health and wellbeing for self and others
3. They want you to think about person-centred practice, evidence generation (ie. how would you gather evidence that your proposal is working?) and promotion of health and wellbeing culture. This could be the Ripple thing on p7 of the assignment outline?
4. You could include experience, journals, policy papers, legislation, professional standards. Show that you understand them and how you would apply them to practice.
5. Understand development of self and others via facilitating learning, and via leadership
6. Examine person-centred leadership and its potential to transform practice
7. Appraise/evaluate evidence, and its role in practice and policy development
8. Devise person-centred approaches for health and wellbeing working with others.
9. Reflexive discourse on being a person-centred practitioner and leader.
(Identify significant moments of learning, and talk about why reflection on person-centred practice is important.)
10. Include ‘assets’ such as: Reflexive notes or blog on significant moments of learning, Group learning activities, Concept maps, Diagrams, Voice recordings, Photos of drawings, paintings or collages, Mapping (cross-referencing) to professional standards – ie. outline some key points of a relevant professional standard and annotate it with how your proposal corresponds.
11. Include a statement of confidentiality.
