1. Where are we now? The process begins by revisiting the corporate mission and objectives to ensure that marketing plans are consistent with the overall direction of the set for the organisation. Much of the information to help you answer this question is gathered in the marketing audit.
2. Where do we want to be? Based upon your assessment above, develop your objectives, segments and targets and positioning strategies for the good or service you have chosen.
3. How will we get there? You must now outline the programmes and tactics you would use in some detail to reach your customers. Your plan must be actionable and must therefore include a budget and indications of how you will evaluate, monitor and control the plan
4. Did we get there? Finally, explain how you would to assess whether the strategy had met its objectives or not and what you would recommend if it had not.
