Topic: Does export-market participation improve labor productivity in Canada?Focusing on manufacturing industry in Canada during the 1980s and 1990s
The structure of the paper:
1. Introduction
-Background information (1. pre and post CUSFTA/NAFTA during 1980s and 1990s. 2. the depreciation of the dollarthe depreciation of the dollar) increase the export share of Canadian Industries. Data shows that labor productivity increase during such period.
-Therefore, this background information is my motivation to choose this topic.
2. Literature review
–Past researches and data to show how the relationship between the export-market participation and the labor productivity in Canadian manufacturing industry
-From the literature review, get the initial assumption to the topic. (High export-market participation industries would have more labor productivity growth)
3. Methodology
-Introduce what the relevant data is used to test the assumption
-Using the economic model production function to do the linear regression.
To set the dependent variable as L-productivity, and the variables includes the exit or entry export market status of the manufacturing industries, mean firm size, K intensity…
When testing, you need a fairly wide range of control variables.
-show the result of the data test, and illustrate how the results support my assumption.
4. The limitation of my testing method
5. Conclusion
Tips: The two research papers that i uploaded in the Upload files may be helpful for you when setting and doing the data test.
