Part 1 – Introduction to Topic: The introduction to your topic (“The Introduction”) is the preamble for your literature review, it establishes the relevance of your work by building a foundation for the arguments you make for your research throughout the literature review section of your paper.

Part 2 – Literature Review
The Literature review is a curated examination of research related to your topic. The review has three major functions,
1) describing the proposed study’s theoretical foundations,
2) synthesizing the results of prior empirical research, and 3) providing support for the proposed study’s methods. The literature review ends with the proposed hypotheses.

Part 3 – Research Methods
The Methods section describes the empirical methods used in your research. The Methods section has three components a) participants, b) measures, and c) procedures.
