This paper’s topic is to explore current data and research on a mental health topic. There aren’t a lot of parameters regarding what to cover as this is an opportunity for students to find information and create a meaningful paper on aspects of mental health in their own style. Students may choose to pick one mental health diagnosis to focus on, or a general mental health issue (like access to care) or a therapeutic modality they may read about, or medication versus therapy outcomes. Students should have an approval from Professor Padron on the topic they are choosing by a week prior to the paper due date (the paper is due April 18th, therefore the proposal should be submitted and approved by April 11th). The purpose of this paper is for students to demonstrate their ability to take in multiple data sources related to mental health issues/diagnoses and formulate a cohesive idea utilizing multiple sources appropriately. A rubric is available in D2L for your reference on what is expected from this paper and we will go over the specific requirements and expectations as a class prior to the due date. The page requirement means a minimum of eight (8) full pages of text written that does not include the cover page or the works cited/references. Ten (10) points are automatically subtracted for papers that do not meet the minimum page requirement.
