Did Jesus rise from the dead vindicating claims of divinity and did Ellie go to Vega?
Please answer both of these questions with yes, no, maybe, or anything in between in your first paragrah. Then, go on to explain your answer doing all of the following:
1. Discuss for a couple pages whether there is good reason to believe that Jesus was believed to be divine and preexistent by the early Christians, and/or whether Jesus himself thought he was divine and preexistent.
2. Discuss, for a couple more pages the arguments for and against Jesus’ resurrection put forth by Craig and Ludemann. What are the main arguments for each view?
3. Discuss for about a paragraph whether you think Ellie went to Vega or not.
4. Discuss whether YOU think Jesus’ rose from the dead vindicating his alleged divinity and which arguments you find more compelling. Keep in mind here all the background knowledge that we discussed in class (whether God exists or not, the possibility of miracles).
5. Compare your answers in 3 and 4 to each other. How did you weigh the evidence in each case? Keep some of these questions in mind in this section: What similarities and/or differences do you see between these two questions? Do you think your answers tell you anything about yourself and how you generally assess evidence?
In order to get an A, you MUST
1. Refer to the some of the class lectures through your notes, the ppts or the outlines, and show evidence that you understand what you are referring to.
2. Show me that you’ve read through Craig and Ludemann’s arguments and fully understand both sides of the debate, as well some (definitely no need to go into great detail on this) of the assessments afterwards in the book.
3. Show me that you’ve put some genuine thought into your answers to 3, 4, and 5 above, and can articulate yourself clearly.
