The goal of sex offender legislation is to prevent sexual offending (against children) and recidivism. What changes to these laws and policies would you recommend to achieve this goal? Please write a letter to your state legislator expressing your concerns about the current sex offenders laws and policies while also proposing suggestions for change that are evidence-based (i.e., studies have shown could be more effective than our current system in reducing recidivism and keeping the potential victims safe).
