Select an elementary grade level (K–6) choose 1 core book or author to focus your reading unit on. Using the information from the Scenario section, design a reading/language arts unit for your selected elementary grade level using the prompts in the Integrated Reading Unit Template. Apply strategies centered on your students’ needs to support their literacy development. Note: Although this template may not reflect a typical unit plan, it is meant to outline the necessary elements required for this assessment.
Ensure you do the following in your unit:
Use the prompts provided in the template to develop your unit.
Ensure you include a reading standard and objective for each of the 3 lessons.
At least 1 of your 3 lessons must integrate a major subject area, including an objective and standard for that subject area.
At least 1 of your 3 lesson plans must include a pre-reading and post-reading activity.
If you include the lesson plan you created for your Wk 4 Field Experience: Lesson Plan assignment in this unit, indicate that it is from Week 4 in your template and ensure that it is relative to your unit.
