Review of Literature Paper
Topic- Well-being and life satisfaction of new immigration
There are various types of theses that you can support in this project, such as:
Conducting a focused literature review taking into cognizance the impact of immigration on particular facets of human behavior e.g.,
Must be at least 3 ½ – 4 pages
In writing of this paper follow these steps:
1) Have your own thesis statement & your own hypothesis
2) Find 2 relevant and recent (2015-2023) articles from peer-reviewed journal, out of which one will be empirical and the other can be a theoretical article from peer reviewed journals like a meta-analysis but not Dissertation Abstracts.
I found an empirical article (it is in the files section) but still need a theoretical article. Please let me know when you find an article so I can take a look. thanks!
Writing of the paper: This paper must include the following sections:
Title page (1 page) include here title of your paper, your Name, Course, Course Number, Semester/Year, and Due Date
Review of Literature -Your Review of Literature will hence have 3 paragraphs
Para 1: § State and introduce your thesis statement
The first sentence should stimulate the reader’s interest as well as draw attention to a contentious issue that a wide spectrum of audience can relate to. Clearly identify the research problem & state your own hypothesis.
Indicate why the topic is important and cite references to support this e.g., Casil (2020), Ruiz(2019) and Duong(2018).
Para 2, 3, Review and summarize the 2 studies that have addressed the problem/variable:
Include in these points in your summary of each article:
1. State the purpose and main objective of the study.
2. How are the key concepts and terms defined.
3. What are stated hypotheses.
4. Method here include details of subjects.
5. Procedure what subjects did Scales, Tests and measures employed
6. Results what was found, whether hypothesis/es were supported or not?
7. Discussion: what were the conclusions drawn from the study?
8. Limitations of the study, how could this study be improved?
9. Did you find the study interesting, why or why not?
Discuss the limitations and also the importance of these studies separately. Address areas that were overlooked by past studies.

Note: Avoid the use of passive voice, or the use of male pronouns as a generic way of referring to all persons. Do not excessively use the first person while writing your paper as in “I will discuss…” or (especially) “I think that…” Do not use the term bibliography, instead use terms the terms citations and references. Avoid using contractions. The paper should not be based on excessive quotations or close paraphrasing, but should be paraphrased in a major way.
