Your paragraphs must be logically organized and address a single point. Good essays break a problem down to its constituent parts.
A strong paragraph consists of a topic sentence that makes an arguable claim, relates to the thesis, and focused paragraph, evidence that supports that claim, analysis that explains how that evidence supports that claim, and finally a brief sentence that wraps up the idea.
Ideas exist only in language so use correct grammar and punctuation.
Do not use the first person or its pronouns.
You must use specific quotations from the novel to support your points. You should have at least 1 quotation per body paragraph.
Do not consult outside texts. The only text used should be Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng. If you find an outside text that you’d like to use to prove a point, you must consult me first.
