Using both course material and outside academic sources, students are expected to compare and contrast theories of organizational processes and offer suggestions for a best process model. Tasks:
- Identify, explain and give examples of at 4 typical challenges faced by public service organizations. Some examples include – Lack of funding, Lack of business skills (business acumen), Inexperienced leadership, Lack of social media platforms, Lack of technology, Ineffective Boards
*Do not rely simply on these examples. There are many problems faced by PSOs
- For each challenge, present a best practice model designed to address the challenge
- Be sure to incorporate theories from assigned textbook. A perfect example would be the PEST Analysis. There are tons of theories provided in the textbook. Be sure to include frameworks/theories besides PEST Analysis, and use appropriate journal articles.
- Best practices must be supported by materials and outside academic sources (journals articles/books/academic papers) only.
