Instructions
For this report, you are to read ONE of the other required texts listed in the syllabus (Earley, 1992; Hare, 1999; O’Malley, 2004). This assignment is intended to expose you to aspects of forensic and correctional psychology that you may not get from the assigned readings and lectures. The format of this paper will consist of two components: (Part 1) will summarize the topic of the book and key characters in 1-2 paragraphs and (Part 2) will contain a reaction on the book you read. The second part of your paper is where you can critically evaluate the work of the author, provide information about how this book relates to your life/experiences, and how it increased your understanding of issues within the forensic and correctional psychology arena by connecting the book to at least two topics learned in the course. This paper is NOT just a summary of the book. If you only write a summary of the book, you will not earn full points. The paper should be typed in Times New Roman 12-point font, double-spaced with one-inch margins, and it should be at least 3 pages in length. A reference page will not be required unless you choose to discuss additional material (e.g., articles, books) outside of the book you chose to read or the textbook. If you ever reference another source, then you will need to include a reference page as well as proper in-text citations. Please note that reference pages will not count towards the page limit. For late papers, there will be NO EXCEPTIONS. Additional instructions regarding this assignment will be posted on D2L.
