Consider in your paper the key questions we have asked ourselves in this course, why does Alexander the Great matter and why do stories of his life, both the historical and the fictional, not only endure, but continue to fascinate so many even today. Why is the figure of Alexander one who can transcend virtually any cultural or religious divide and become almost anything or anyone? How connected is the historical Alexander to the Alexander of myth and legend and is his popularity based in the mythology that surrounds him, or perhaps the actual deeds he accomplished, or is it some combination of both?
