The policy paper should be 6-8 pages in length (excluding figures, tables, and references), in which you use the readings and economic tools learned in class to take a position in a current international economic debate or issue. You must explain both sides of the debate, take a side, and explain which evidence has persuaded you and why. The paper will help you think critically about some of the issues discussed in class and allow you to explore some of the topics further. The policy paper should not be based solely on the assigned course readings. The paper should be typed double-spaced in 12pt font with standard margins, stapled, and should contain your name in the upper right-hand corner of each page. The policy paper is due on the last day of class. No late papers will be accepted.
