My proposal for my exam topic is body insecurities within the balkan region. I gathered 5 interviews from 5 different countries. I will try to gather more and expend this subject later on as a photography series but it has been difficult to convince people to be this vulnerable with me. My idea was the cultural shift that took place due to the russian occupation and later on the western european involvement within the Balkan region. These are two main events that changed the way we dress, look, put on make up, our mannerisms and overall present ourselves. I will attach the pdf of the interviews. The participants were asked to write down a letter to self, to express their thoughts on their own bodies, to recall memories or simply say what were the phrases they heardabout their bodies and stuck with them.
