Research
Topic: What is the
impact of specialized training and education for caregivers of elderly patients
in palliative care settings on their ability to deliver holistic care and
support.
Undertake a
systematic review of the research topic above and present this as a report. You
should also detail how you propose to publish your findings via a dissemination
strategy. The word count is 5000 words (+/- 10%).

attached are example assessment from the ACP MSc programme (Advanced Clinical
Practice), which this module is based on (the student has kindly agreed to it
being used). And, this is not a perfect assessment, and a number of things
should be noted:
- You should tabulate your
inclusion/exclusion criteria - Back every statement made with
relevant citations and references - Data extraction form/s should be
larger than in the example to aid legibility - You need to include your
research aim and objectives in the methods section which should detail
whether your review is qualitative, quantitative or mixed - When synthesising your results
these should be narratively for qualitative or statistically for
quantitative. When using themes, I would state your themes and
sub-themes - You should have a contents/index
list at the beginning of your paper and a separate page with any
abbreviations you are using (these won’t count towards your words) - When citing more than one piece
of research, the earliest publication should come first i.e. it should be
written in chronological order of years published - And just to note, that anything
in a table will not count towards your word count - Please note that the second
example below shouldn’t have had any appendices; everything should go in
your main body.

successful completion of this assessment and to pass the assignments, you will
need to meet and demonstrate the following learning outcomes:

and show mastery in analysing relevant literature to answer the research
question in an area of nursing/healthcare at the cutting edge of the discipline

Apply
systematic review and meta-analysis/synthesis methodologies to the exploration
of relevant issues in literature to synthesise a range of information and draw
conceptual and complex conclusions for practice
3.
Communicate
complex ideas clearly and effectively in a text-based format to academic/lay
audiences
