In “Little Worker,” identify the theme(s), setting, symbol, and character(s) that are worth exploring, and develop an essay that responds to the following: In what ways does Little Worker’s job reveal the problematic nature of the dystopian world in which she lives?
Other questions that you should be able to answer to help you formulate an essay:
– What is Little Worker’s job?
– Who is the oppressed in the story?
– Who is really the villain?
– What is the story’s commentary about the desire for hegemonic power, the use of violence, and/or oppression?
– Why are these texts important to understand, or in other words, what is the social or cultural significance of these works
Requirements:
– To support your analysis/argument, provide textual evidence from the short story (in the form of concise, properly cited, quotes and/or paraphrase). You must use at least 3 secondary sources, but you will need to explore peer reviewed articles from a scholarly journal. (will attach secondary sources in files below)
– An annotated bibliography will be required
– This essay needs to be 5-6 FULL pages long
