1. Identify and provide knowledge and resources necessary to complete research regarding fundamental nursing concepts and basic nursing procedures.
2. Explore and demonstrate effective communication in obtaining and conveying relevant information regarding fundamental nursing concepts, skills, and the nursing process to faculty and classmates.
3. Explore the implementation of evidence-based practice to promote excellence in nursing.

Requirements:

Research information on the nursing specialty area, use the library to locate current (within 5 years) information from peer-reviewed journals on the chosen topic.  You will need at least 3 appropriate sources for this project. This paper must be submitted in APA format. 

Conduct a search of relevant databases to find research-based evidence related to a challenge being experienced in nursing. 

Provide background information and address the challenge in nursing.  Locate and discuss two evidence-based solutions that may be used to solve the nursing challenge chosen. 

Assignment: 

After completion of the research write your paper using this general outline paper (at least 6 paragraphs and 3-5 pages):

Introduction:  In the paper, you must discuss the nursing challenge you have identified and why you choose this challenge.  Is it specific to a specialty area of nursing or is it a challenge for all nurses in all areas of practice?   

Nursing Challenges: Discuss the nursing challenge and how it impacts nurses and patients.  Be specific with issues faced by nurses with the challenge.    

Evidence-based solution #1: Discuss the solution to the nursing challenge.  Explore how the solution is evidenced based and how it has been researched.  Provide strong reasoning for how and why this solution will help deal with the challenge provided and specifically how it will help the nurses solve this issue. 

Evidenced-based solution #2: Discuss the solution to the nursing challenge.  Explore how the solution is evidenced based and how it has been researched.  Provide strong reasoning for how and why this solution will help deal with the challenge provided and specifically how it will help the nurses solve this issue. 

Conclusion: Tie up your paper, and identify which of the two solutions will be the most effective implementation to solve the challenge addressed in your paper.
