Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to gain a deeper understanding of a small section of Mark’s story, using tools and questions of basic literary analysis. Since the gospels are stories, these literary analysis tools are useful for reading all of the gospels.
Instructions: A literary analysis is a way to examine different parts of a story such as the setting, characters, and plot. Simply put, the setting is where the story took place. The characters are the people in the story. The plot is what happens in the story.
