Tittle page: the title page should be formatted according to APA formatting guidelines. Introduction: Provide an overview of the paper. The reader should have a clear idea of the purpose and topics of the paper after reading the introduction. General facts and supportive information should be included. Body of the paper: use the following for subheadings to organize the content:
History of Nursing: discuss and describe the history of nursing, include a definition of nursing, include three major influences on the profession, and describe how this influences impact current nursing practice. Evolution of Nursing Theory: discuss the evolution of nursing theory, describe how theory began, and it’s application to past and present nursing practice. Define the four major concepts (person, health, environment, nursing) related to nursing theory. Theorist choice (Florence Nightingale): identify a theorist to review, include a discussion of the theories background, including personal and family, life, education and professional backgrounds, contributions to nursing, and influencing factors related to the development of a theory. Theory: identify and discuss the theory developed by your chosen theorist(Florence Nightingale). Include a brief overview of how the theory relates to the four major nursing theory concepts. Conclusion: the conclusion of the paper should be concise and reiterate the main topics. Do not introduce new material. Headings: each subheading or section listed above, should be used as the Level One headings for the paper and format it according to APA guidelines. Reference: reference list is kept double spaced and uses hanging indents, in alphabetical order, all InTEXT citations must have a corresponding reference list entry and vice versa. The paper will be submitted to Turn-It-In and must score 30% or below to be graded.
