Students are required to identify an A.T.O.D. (Alcohol, Tobacco, or Other Drugs) issue in the news-internet-policy-political announcement which can be shared with the class and must identify issues of interest within the past three (3) years (2020-Present). Some topic examples include drug education/treatment programs, the opioid crisis, risk/protective factors impacting substance use, drug decriminalization, harm reduction strategies, drug testing policy, etc. Aside from providing an overview of this “newsflash”, students are required to provide other research references into this assignment, thus tying the “newsflash” & “research” together into a piece that reflects current A.T.O.D. information & is grounded with empirical research. NOTE: A minimum of five (5) credible citations no older than 2018 are required to be infused in the body of this assignment. All citations must appear in the reference sheet “and” all references must appear in the body of the paper! Sources must be published no earlier than 2018.
