The term paper for this course covers the book, Looking for History: Dispatches from Latin America, by Alma Guillermoprieto. All examples in the term paper must come from this book.

Alma Guillermoprieto’s book, Looking for History, focuses upon several important and lesser known figures in modern Latin American history.  For this assignment, detail FIVE individuals (and in most cases the group or political movement) that the journalist covers in this book. Make sure to include the full name of each person and the full name of the group(s) he/she was associated with (if applicable). In each section, tell the reader: what was the background of this individual? What group or political movement did they follow? What were the problems of their society/nation they were addressing? What were their solutions to these perceived problems? Were they successful in their efforts?
