The Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) must be proficient in managing acute and complex conditions across various settings including the emergency department, inpatient units, progressive care, and critical care units. For this assignment, you will explore the management strategies of one acute illness of a patient in the emergency department (ED), and non-critical inpatient units.   • Finally discuss discharge planning for this scenario and consider when the patient is stable enough to be discharged home, to a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation, or other outpatient center.
