  1. Introduction – Identify and briefly describe a quality improvement project or initiative at a clinical site or possibly where you work.
  2. Background – Describe the reasons or need for the project and provide background information on the inception. Identify stakeholders in the initiative and the projected outcome related to patient safety, patient outcomes, quality of care, and/or nursing practice. Include target or benchmarks and where the benchmarks were derived from.
  3. Research and Evidence – Support the project or initiative with a minimum of two scholarly resources showing evidence to take the proposed action.
  4. Methods, Resources, and Performance Targets –  Describe how the project was put into action, responsibilities of team members including nursing, resources utilized, discuss strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT).
  5. Results – Discuss the results of the initiative including the impact on the quality of care. What are the plans for this project or initiative? Will the work continue or be modified?
  6. Conclusion – Summarize the report of the project and provide your personal experience with the project or initiative. How has your nursing practice changed as a result of the project or initiative? Discuss which of the 6 IOM aims were affected by this project.
  7. Include title and reference slides.
  8. Each slide need to have speaker notes-please read below on the purpose and how to create speaker notes (Creating a PowerPoint Presentation).
  9. The presentation is to be 5-7 slides in length excluding title and reference slides.
  10. Grammar, spelling, punctuation, references, and citations are consistent with formal academic writing and APA format as expressed in the 7th edition
  11. Include a minimum of two current (within the past 5 years) scholarly resources. References may include scholarly websites of organizations or government agencies and must be presented using APA format for electronic media.
  12. Please note that this assignment must be submitted as a PowerPoint document.
