The PA’s Role in Addressing (Your Group’s Trafficking Typology): A PICOT Analysis

We made an initial powerpoint with a PICOT question. Which we submitted the attached powerpoint. Now we are to add 5 slides with the following Assignment Instructions:

The last product of the PICOT analysis process, The PA’s Role in Addressing (Your Group’s Trafficking Typology): A PICOT Analysis. The purpose of the presentation is a “ready for prime-time” product that students, who are future PAs, can use to increase awareness of human trafficking and the provision of trauma-informed care in medical and allied health professionals.

To complete the systemic PICOT analysis of the trafficking situation each group identified, each group will create a five (5) slide action plan that addresses the prevention or the clinical question the group developed. Each group will integrate the action plan slides into their revised PICOT analysis power point.

The new slide content will include:

  1. Victim-centered Trauma-informed Care
  • Steps as a PA you will take to create a victim-centered clinical environment with attention to language, power, and control considerations
  • Design the delivery of trauma-informed care integrating the qualities of safety, acceptance, compassion, and dignity.
  1. Physician Assistants Role
  • Prioritize and justify the immediate actions as a PA you will conduct/perform/refer to address the needs of a patient suspected of, or confirmed, as a victim of trafficking.
  • Determine and justify future actions/referrals/resources, you as a PA, will recommend to the patient.
  1. Bioethical Principles
  • Review the four primary bioethical principles as identified in the Guidelines in for Ethical Conduct for the PA Profession.
  • Choose two and elaborate how each principle applies to the delivery of care to victims of trafficking. You must apply each principle specifically to the human trafficking typology of the case your group analyzed.
  • Choose two and elaborate how each principle applies to the delivery of care to victims of trafficking. You must apply each principle specifically to the human trafficking typology of the case your group analyzed.

4. Victim Resources

  • The health, mental health, social services,  advocacy agencies, and law enforcement/legal support available to the patient in their local community and that apply to their trafficking typology.
  • The National Human Trafficking Hotline is, of course, a resource to include on this slide. Go beyond the hotline. Search and identify governmental, university, and private organizations, hospital systems, etc., that provide supportive resources for the patient and her/his trafficking typology.
  1. Reporting Requirements
  • Research the federal and state reporting requirement for victims of human trafficking for the geographical location of the trafficking case your group analyzed.
  • Explain reporting considerations for adult and minor child victims that apply to your group’s trafficking case.
  • Specify if PAs are required to identify when they report a patient as a suspected/confirmed victim of human trafficking
  1. Organization
  • Master’s level quality of writing and narration of the presentation
  • Your group will add these five slides to your finalized midterm presentation.
  • Maximum length of the complete systemic PICOT final presentation: 20 slides, excluding the title page and reference page(s).
  • Integrate the references for these five slides to your original reference slide. Do not create a new, standalone reference slide.
  • Include citations to support your discussion points and resources.
  • References in APA 7 format.
  • Creative elements such as media and graphics that capture a viewer’s interest in the problem of human trafficking.
