This week you were introduced to 1) theories about motivation and 2) approaches to learning from three different viewpoints–neuroscience, teaching/education, and behaviorism. Based on knowledge accumulated from that material, complete the below Weekly Assignment.
Instructions
Step 1
After studying the required resources, pick either motivation or learning. If you pick motivation, choose one of the theories you align closely with. If you pick learning, choose one of the viewpoints (of the three presented) that you most closely align with (even if not completely agree).
Step 2
Ponder on what aspects of that theory (motivation) or approach (learning) you agree. Was this something you observed in your life–personally, in others, or with work?
Step 3
Create a short paper composed of two paragraphs as follows:
Paragraph 1: Briefly identify and then summarize the theory (if selected motivation) or approach (if selected learning) you chose. Pull from the study materials to describe that theory/approach in your own words.
Paragraph 2: Provide information from what you have observed, experienced, or similar in your personal life or in those around you that supports the theory/approach you chose.
Note: You may align or see value in all of the theories or approaches, but just pick the one in which you most align and provide support in this paragraph for that selection.
Step 4
Format the 2-paragraph paper as described below and submit the assignment by the due date.

- Times New Roman or Calibi 12 pt font
- “Normal” margins (1″ on all sides)
- Use of “minimal quotes”; defined as no more than 2 direct quotes with each quote being less than 40 words.
