Objective: Students will write an original podcast script: The topic chosen: The life of an immigrant coming to America in search of a better life
Directions: You will write a script for a podcast episode. You may write the script however you like – it can be a bullet point list or a word-for-word script or a two-column production script. I highly recommend using the documents in the Podcast Resources. Read How to Write a Podcast Script before you get started. You need to consider your topic well in advance of recording.
Scripts must include:
- Introduction of topic – introduce what your topic is about, summarize what will be discussed, and introduce any guests included on your show.
- Intro music – brief interlude of music to transition to body. Credit the creator of the music (i.e., royalty free jingle, self-made, etc.)
- Body of episode – This is where you present your information. Be sure to include the research that you collected.
- Outro music – brief interlude of music to transition to body. Credit the creator of the music (i.e., royalty free jingle, self-made, etc.)
- Citations – The last page of your script should be your Works Cited Page in APA format.
