Introduction
For this lesson’s assignment, you will write an 8 page paper that provides a compilation of prioritized controls to satisfy compliance needs for your choice of an organization on a U.S. public stock exchange. The organization must be within the healthcare, finance and banking, or retail sectors. For the selected organization, take into consideration its critical infrastructure sector to help determine appropriate laws and regulations that need specific compliance needs. Include all jurisdictions that can apply and determine the controls needed.
Instructions
Select an organization on a U.S. public stock exchange on which to focus your paper. The organization must be within the healthcare, finance and banking, or retail sectors. Apply critical thinking to appropriate sources to determine the range of needs from the laws and regulations applicable to your selected organization. Include all industry, general, federal, state, and local laws and regulations that apply.
Write a paper in which you:
- Assemble the unified set of needs for the selected organization.
- Select the best control source (more than one becomes difficult to manage) and advocate for the adoption of the control source that you selected.
- Describe the process used to select specific controls. In your description, it may help to answer the following questions:
- How did you prioritize controls?
- How did you decide which was the “best control source”?
- Create a table of controls matching the needs and the control’s source (no more than one line per item, one might group controls for a need).
- Conclude with a brief justification of your approach and generated solutions and a discussion of next steps (and possible implications). Your justifications and solutions should be supported by scholarly resources, as well as appropriate laws and regulations.
