Your essay will present a tiered evaluation. Your task, then, will be to

demonstration of logos (organization).
B) evaluate the implications of language as signifying a dehumanized and distorted
portrayal of the poor
C) argue the manner in which Jonathan Swift’s essay depicts the moral conclusion
the audience may derive.
The first essay consists of seven (7) paragraphs: an introduction, five (5) body
paragraphs, and a conclusion.
Introduction:
The introduction (at least for the first essay) should consist of 5-7sentences. Remember,
the introduction clarifies the focus of your discussion; hence, the introduction needs to

provide your audience with all the essential information regarding the context of your
argument.
The first sentence of the introduction should indicate the name of the author and the piece

(1) sentence.

paragraphs; rather its purpose is to demonstrate that in consideration of the evidence, the
argument posed in the thesis is justified.
