What is the main point the author is trying to convey to the reader? Another way you can think about this question is: what is the main/central idea or thesis? What is the author’s goal or purpose? What does the author want you to take away from reading this piece? Minimum 250 words.
Response Post 2: Organization:
How does the author organize this argument into sections/parts? What are the different parts and what does each one cover? (be specific) Why does the author put the article/chapter into this particular organizational structure? You can also think of this as creating a “map” of the article or the chapter. What is the path that the author takes you down and why? What is the story (plot, characters, setting) that the author is trying to convey? Minimum 250 words.
Response Post 3: Evidence:
What types of evidence does the author use? What methods were employed? What kinds of archival sources (primary) and secondary sources were used? What are some of the key authors cited and why? Explain the significance of each of the authors/types of evidence that you mention. How does this evidence support the author’s overall argument? Minimum 250 words.
