Qualitative Research Proposal- Parental Stress and Coping Strategies for Families with ADHD

I have attached my introduction and syllabus for this assignment. The notes from my professor regarding my first submission (the intro) was: “I recommend you do not write about a topic that has to do with your family, yourself, or someone you know. The reason is you need to remain objectively committed to follow the empirical evidence and be free of biases when seeking for literature.I recommend you do not write about a topic that has to do with your family, yourself, or someone you know. The reason is you need to remain objectively committed to follow the empirical evidence and be free of biases when seeking for literature.”

He also provided notes for success such as: “Your goal and specific hypotheses are not clear.
Jaisy,
Here are my recommendations to improve your work, in addition to comments above.

Historical Antecedents

Writing an introduction includes providing a justification for a topic you intend to study. Usually this justification covers (using ONLY peer reviewed sources):

• What has been done about the topic?
• What is the evidence for what has worked?
• What may be done differently?

Goals and Hypotheses

Responding to these questions, leads you to re-estate your topic now as a set of questions and hypotheses:

• What is it you intend to study? Be very specific
• What hypothetical considerations you intend to study?
o Be very specific in naming what variables represent your topic
o How do you presume these variables may interact?
▪ Here, either you predict that IV A affects DV B, or
▪ That as IV A varies or moves, so does DV B

Crediting Sources

• Provided literature-based context for investigating topic of interest
• Use ONLY peer reviewed literature
• Use only the Freeman Lozier academic library NOT Google
• Use your APA manual, not online sources or citation tools because these are often inaccurate
