Instructions: Failure to adhere to these guidelines will result in an automatic 10 point deduction in your overall take home final grade.

1. Prepare your answers in double-spaced form with one inch margins.
2. The font is to be 12‐point size and times new roman or calibri style.
3. Use a header with your name and page numbers only.
4. Minimum 2, maximum 3 pages per response for question one and a minimum of 1 page for question the other question you choose.
5. Place all the questions in the same document, but place PAGE BREAKS in between answers, and LABEL them with NUMBERS only (i.e., QUESTION 1, QUESTION 2, etc.). Do not re-write the question.
6. FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT ONLY – correctly CITE your sources, but I DO NOT need a reference list. I will look up your cites based on the authors and year. See helpful links.
7. Do not use lots of spacing, writing the question before each response, odd margins, larger fonts (i.e., ARIAL) or any other approaches to take up valuable space allotted for this exercise.

YOU MUST ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTION.

1. (66%) What are the 3 most important ideas, principles, or practical matters you have learned in this course?
a. List them in order of their importance to you and your future experiences as a leader. One being most important, two being 2nd most important, and three being 3rd most important. These 3 things could involve theories, practical insights, insights from your readings, or insights that have come based upon a reflection of your own leadership traits, behaviors, or skills. They must all be firmly based in an activity directly related to this course.
b. Do not simply list three things ‐ your three most important “things” should be thoroughly explained.
c. You must justify and explain why each of your three is important, and justify your ranking of the 3 most important things.
d. In other words, why did you choose the three items you did and why did you rank them as you did? What did you learn and how will this help you in your future endeavors?
e. EACH of the three components you select should contain a justification of at least 1 FULL page. Thus, your complete answer to this question should be at least 3 pages.

2. (34%) YOU MUST ANSWER One (1) OF THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS (failure to answer each component of the question you select in full will result in the deduction of points).
4
a. Developing relationships is important for your leadership journey. Using concepts and theories related to culture, power and influence, analyze how organizational culture can inhibit OR enhance one’s ability to create an influential network as a leader.
b. Discuss the roles of power.
c. Discuss the roles of influence/persuasion.
d. Discuss networking and connecting with people.

b. You are the master negotiator for your organization. You’re currently leading a team as they negotiate a new contract (multi-year) with one of your distributors. You’ve been coaching them on your negotiation principles (which involved the book “Getting to Yes”). However,…the big day is TOMORROW…and you’ve been called to a separate meeting in Tokyo. You won’t be able to join in with your team, and they still need a bit of help. Provide them a brief tutorial on negotiation that they could use.

c. Consider what we learned about making tough decisions. Then, elaborate on specific challenges that you will encounter when making tough decisions based on YOUR leadership style? Please identify challenges, explain why they are challenges, and describe what you can or will do to ensure you can overcome those challenges while making tough decisions as a leader.
