Answer the following questions:
- Do you feel that social media, in general, is harmful to you and your peers’ health and well-being?
- Do you think that companies should take the potential harms of social media into consideration when planning their marketing campaigns?
- An established company like Lush has an existing base of dedicated customers and email subscribers. They also have a significant physical presence through brick-and-mortar store fronts (which can attract new customers). In addition, Lush’s major decision about leaving social media received media attention, which can also be considered a form of marketing (i.e. P.R. coverage). With all that in mind, do you think it is feasible for a small or new business to reach its ideal customer without using social media? In other words, do small businesses have the luxury to walk away from those platforms without jeopardizing their business?
