Learning Goal: I’m working on a humanities discussion question and need the explanation and answer to help me learn.
The importance of critical thinking during the problem-solving process is well known. The key to the process is setting aside personal prejudices, hasty judgments, and emotions, as well as considering all reasonable possibilities. The decision making steps are:
- Identify the problem.
- Analyze the problem from different angles.
- Brainstorm several different solutions.
- Decide which solution fits best.
- Take action.

- Share a time when you managed an important undertaking, such as a large project at work or a personal event. How did your approach compare with the steps listed above? How satisfied were you with the outcome? What changes, if any, would you make to your process for your next important project or event?
