The article from Mind Tools references a term or concept that is often associated with kaizen, the term, “mudaâ€�, which means waste. “Kaizen is aimed at decreasing waste by eliminating overproduction, improving quality, being more efficient, having less idle time, and reducing unnecessary activities. All these translate to money savings and turn potential losses into profits.”

- Consider how you may apply this concept to your current role at work or a previous job you may have held. What changes would you make to increase your productivity and be more efficient at the same time? What can you do to reduce waste and increase satisfaction? What barriers do you anticipate may interfere with making these changes?
