Your submission in Canvas will automatically go through Turn-it-in, which will take more time than regular Canvas submissions. Plan for that! Problems with Canvas or Turn-it-in will not result in changes to course policy regarding late assignments.

THE CONTENT
Time period covered: approximately 15 – 20 years post-graduation.
Introduction: The first couple of paragraphs (no more than one-half page), should briefly describe what kind of work you want to be doing, where you want to be (geographical, type of firm, etc.), and why. Also include your current plans for your first professional job post-graduation (the starting point of the career), and the final milestone included in this career plan. This will be based on previous decisions, exploration, commitments, and other tools you have used in career planning.
Do not include introduction information beyond the first half page.
This is not a self-reflection piece or opinion piece, and it does not concern your college education and plans while studying for your B.S. For instance, do not include information about why you want to be an engineer, and do not include plans for steps you plan to take while earning your B.S. Do not include items such as undergraduate research, obtain an internship, or graduate with my bachelor’s degree.
The remainder of the plan will be devoted to a step-by-step plan or roadmap to move from your first engineering position to your preferred position in 15 – 20 years.
You must have at least 3 milestones (jobs after your 1st job post-graduation) in your plan and on your timeline, which you need to meet to stay on track according to your timeline and goals.
For each milestone, you must identify a minimum of 3 specific interim steps (tools, education and training, etc.) required to meet that milestone. For each interim step, include the answers to ‘Some questions to ask about interim steps/goals,’ which were discussed in class. Don’t forget that all of this will have a source to be cited. For several interim steps, identify possible obstacles to achievement, as well as ways to overcome those obstacles.
Include a detailed timeline (must be some kind of graphic or figure in your paper) for all interim steps and milestones. Must include start and completion dates (month/year) for all interim steps in your career plan.
Check your class notes for reminders about what is an isn’t a milestone, interim step, and other details.
