Students will be expected to “make senseâ€ of the cultural phenomenon they are exploring by using, at a minimum, the required readings. These essays should not be merely descriptive, but rather should demonstrate an ability to critically engage the theoretical concepts and thematic organization of Latin American popular culture that we are exploring in the class. Proper use of footnote citation is required. You can use a movie or a series for your experiential essay.
