This first individual assignment is meant to give you an opportunity to get feedback very early in the program on your understanding and application of frameworks and concepts. It also provides an opportunity to ‘test’ your written communication and reflection skills.
Ethical Dilemma Analysis: Consequentialist, Deontological, and Virtue Ethics Approach
Assignment requirements – please read this carefully
Select an incident or situation from your own work experience when you or your company faced an ethical dilemma and analyse/discuss it using the ethical frameworks from class.
While you will, of course, need to describe the incident, please focus most of your writing on an analysis of the incident by using the frameworks and theories from class as a lens to tell your story.
Ensure that you cover each of the following points in your analysis:
− How might each of the moral frameworks result in similar or different decisions?
− What framework does your actual decision or action reflect?
− Would you do the same thing again?
− What would you change?
• Integrate relevant course materials to support your thoughts and analysis. Use the material from, class, your readings and other research you have done. Use Harvard referencing to cite the theories and other information. Do not reference course material, reference source material only.
• Develop a logical flow and support your arguments/claims/themes with adequate evidence.
• Present in clear, concise, grammatically correct writing. Make certain you have proofread your assignment a couple of times. You might like to ask a person from your team to proofread your assignment.
• When using table or figures explain how they support your discussion, do not expect your reader to decipher how the information is relevant.
• Keep to the word count.
• Use 1.5 or double spacing please, be kind to your reader.
