Include the following information as headings in your case brief:
Essential facts of the case: Explain the essential facts of the case. Tell the story of the case.
Decision of the court and rationale: This is a very important part of the case brief. You must explain the gist of the court ruling (what they decided), (i.e., why the court arrived at its holding or ruling).
Previous decisions: What decisions were made by courts that heard this case prior to it reaching this court?
Significance to the field of education: Explain how this case was significant to the field of special education.
References: Include at least one – two additional references beside the one listed in the assignment. (This will be the last page of your paper.)
