IMPORTANT: The paper will be graded according to the rubric. Please consult the rubric very
closely as you write the paper. Here are the steps to start:
1. Choose a topic. You can choose almost anything that interests you as long as you can
relate some aspect of human decision-making to it.
2. Speak with the professor! The topic probably needs to be refined, and it will be
important to select data and decide on empirical methods, etc.
3. Throughout writing the paper, regularly stay in contact with the professor to discuss how
it is going and to be sure it is following these guidelines.
The paper needs to have the following characteristics:
1. It should be about 5,000 words in length at a minimum.
2. It must have a clear thesis, or point that you are trying to prove or demonstrate.
3. It needs to display academic rigor to prove the thesis or answer the research question.
This includes one or more of the following
a. Econometrics with results reported in table(s).
b. Mathematical models
c. Graphs
It follows that it can’t just be a narrative. If you have any questions, you must
interact with the professor.
4. It must have an introduction and a conclusion.
a. Introduction should state the question or thesis, explain why it is important, and
give a brief overview of the technique you will use
b. It should be possible to understand the basic idea of the paper by reading just the
introduction and conclusion.
5. It must also have a section to describe and motivate your idea, as well as a section to
present your results.
6. Good grammar and spelling are musts. If you are in doubt, use grammar check and spell
check and visit the Writing Center.
Abstract:
The main aim of this paper is to examine in what ways the economic status of an individual is affected by their education level. This research will try to prove that not all educated individuals obtain employment with a good salary despite the common belief that education helps in securing a good job. In addition, a lot of people take out loans to finish their higher education but fail to find a well-paying job after receiving their degrees and end up paying off their debt for the rest of their lives. Some variables such as demographics and fields of educations are directly related to the job opportunities and income of an individuals. The study will also examine the likelihood that those with sectors of education (degrees) will have higher earnings than those without them.
Introduction

This implies that young individuals who lack education (degrees) are less likely to get employment than those who do. With higher level of education an individual will have credentials necessary to compete in the job market and secure well-paying positions. Therefore, education provides individuals with the skills, knowledge, and tools necessary to succeed in the job market and increase their earning potential. However, not all individuals with higher levels of education experience economic success, and there are many factors that contribute to an individual’s economic status beyond their educational background. This paper will examine the relationship between education and economic status, exploring the various ways in which education can impact an individual’s economic opportunities, as well as the limitations of this relationship. The paper will also discuss the importance of considering other factors such as personal circumstances, industry changes, and location when assessing an individual’s economic status. Ultimately, this paper aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the complex relationship between education and economic status.
