Thales of Miletus is known as a pioneer of philosophy and is know for his strange beliefs such as beliving that everything is fundamentaly made up of water, thales was on a mission to discover the unifying properties of diversity to understand life. thales was known for his rejection of common views and beliefs, he went against the pantheon of greek gods and also the predictable laws in nature. Thales believed that the world was rational and understandable through inquiry and observation. Thales was on a hunt for “Arche” or unifying principle this being thought to be the thing that moves our lives forward. the source of all life Thales justifying water as Arche because everything needs water to live. This can be a wild belief in todays time because alot of us are religous and look at our God or higher being as the thing that keeps our living moving in whatever direction. This can be seen as radical because dismissing someones trust in a being they cannot question goes in the opposite direction of how Thales thought.
