Literary Analysis
(Part 1: 500 words minimum)

Description: For this assignment, write a literary analysis essay on “Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel“, concentrating on Chapters 1- 18 (Parts 1 and 2). This assignment is a two-part assignment. For Part 1, you are expected to write at least 500 words of your analysis on the novel. For Part 2, you are expected to write at least 500 more words on top of Part 1 to complete the word-count to at least 1000. Both parts need to be brought to class as hard-copies for peer-review and self-review assignments.
A literary analysis is a critical evaluation of a work of literature where you present your argument on the text by carefully studying the word choices, literary devices, themes and literary elements used by the author to convey specific ideas/messages. Please go over the “Literary Analysis Worksheet” as you plan your essay, as your responses for this worksheet will be very helpful in providing you with arguments and textual evidence. Your essay must have the following:
