A Cognitive Approach to Child Maltreatment Prevention Among Medically At-Risk Infants

1.Use the journal article submitted for the submission of journal article assignment (Read those instructions that specify the type of article required). The journal article must be approved and contain sections that describe a  research study (contains required sections that describe how the study was conducted).  The RCBC librarian can assist you, at (856) 222-9311, if you have questions about the RCBC online database system.
2. Read the article carefully
3. Write your review of the article including the following:
a. An introduction identifying the hypothesis of the research and the reason that the researcher chose to conduct the research. Note: the hypothesis should be clearly identified as such in your paper. If there is no hypothesis the article should have a research question that you can identify. The article must have either a hypothesis or research question.
b. A detailed description of the procedures of the research including the types of groups used . If no groups are used the number and type of participants must be included. Identify the independent and dependent variables or the correlational relationships including the type of correlation. The purpose of the research should be identified if there are no variables or type of correlation.
c. The results of the research including whether the hypothesis was proven or the research questions answered.
d. Your opinion of the research including why you chose the article. Include responses to the following questions: What caught your attention or interest? Did the findings surprise you? Why or why not? Do you feel that the research is relevant and/or significant?
4. The completed review should be a minimum of 6 typed pages, including a title page and separate reference page.  The paper should be double-spaced (the body of the review should be a minimum of 4 full pages). No wide spacing between paragraphsPapers with a body less than 3 pages will not be accepted. APA format should be used for the reference section. An abstract is not required.
5. Include a separate title page with your name, date, title of article, course title and instructor’s name.
6.A separate reference page with the author’s name, article title, journal name, date and volume number of the journal and page numbers of the article, must be included. Google purdue owl apa format for format information. The reference page should not include the researcher’s references. It should only contain references that you actually read and included information from in your paper.
7. Be sure to keep track of the due date. If you experience any difficulties, I am available to assist you.
8. IMPORTANT: For your journal review to be accepted, a copy of the actual journal article must be submitted to this instructor before the review is due. Please refer to the copy of journal article submission section under the assignment tab, for instructions. (**Make sure the article contains the sections indicated in the instructions especially Methods and Participants. That indicates it is a research study reported on by the researcher (original research) and not just an article about a topic).
9. The due date for the Journal Article Review Paper is 2/19/23.  Please submit your paper through the assignment drop box tab, on the Journal Article Review tab. Do not e-mail your journal article review paper to me.
NOTE: Papers without a correct reference page, in apa format, will not be accepted. They will be returned for correction and resubmission.
NOTE: The system will only display documents in the Word or .pdf format. Documents that will not display will be returned.
NOTE: Plagiarism includes copying or paraphrasing another’s words, ideas, or facts without crediting the source; submitting a paper written by someone else, either in whole or in part, as one’s own work; or submitting work previously submitted for another course or instructor. For this paper, plagiarism occurs when the authors direct words are used without proper citation and quotes. The majority of the paper should be written in YOUR OWN WORDS. Please refer to the Student Handbook for additional information regarding plagiarism and College regulations.
